On 04-27-2012 at 4:00 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of an assault in the downtown area. Arriving officers contacted the victim, a 36 year-old local resident, near Ferry Way. The victim told officers he had been assaulted by a person known to him at a nearby residence. He was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The investigation into this incident is continuing. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

The victim was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The victim had multiple injuries to his face and multiple lacerations on the top of his head. The victim was treated at BRH and ultimately released.
On 04/27/2012, at approximately 0844 hours, JPD police officers and detectives served a search warrant at the residence where the assault took place. The assault occurred at an apartment located in the 200 block of S. Franklin Street. Blood was located inside the apartment and the apartment was processed for evidence.
Officers located 26 year old Marcos GALINDO inside the apartment. GALINDO has lived in Alaska for a short period of time and is originally from California. GALINDO was not injured.
GALINDO was arrested for Assault in the Second Degree, a Class B Felony, and Assault in the Fourth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. GALINDO was briefly transported JPD, and then to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on No Bail.
The investigation continues.
