On March 26, 2012 at about 0715 hours, the Juneau Police Department received a report about a motor vehicle accident on Egan Drive near Wal Mart. One of the witnesses reported that the occupant of the car was thrown from the vehicle.
Juneau Police Officers and Capital City Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene. Officers found a 2001 Jeep Wrangler that was operated by a 32 year old local resident had lost control on the roadway and impacted the guardrail. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and the operator of the Jeep was thrown from the vehicle on impact. CCFR treated the operator at the scene and transported him to Bartlett Regional Hospital. The operator was later released from the hospital.
The Egan Drive roadway was closed for a short period while the vehicle was removed from the roadway. Investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
