On 01/13/2012, at approximately 9:26 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report from Juneau Adult Probations that Justin CAMERON had fled from their office. Probations advised that CAMERON had been taken into custody for a probation violation. CAMERON then pushed and shoved his way past the probations officers and fled from the area on foot. Juneau police officers arrived in the area and began searching for CAMERON.
At approximately 10:21 AM, a Juneau Community Services officer spotted CAMERON in the parking garage on Main Street. CAMERON fled the area and ran in the direction of the State Office Building.
Officers in the area chased CAMERON to Willoughby Avenue, past the Zach Gordon Youth Center, and to the Driftwood Hotel. At approximately 10:25 AM, CAMERON was taken into custody in the parking lot of the Driftwood Hotel.
CAMERON was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on the probation violation. CAMERON was on probation for the original charges of Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the 3rd Degree and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 4th Degree. Charges pending for Escape in the Second Degree, a Class B Felony.
