The man who shot a woman and then himself has been identified as 42 year old Bradley James Mauch of Juneau.

On 12-30-11, at about 11:04pm, The Juneau Police Department received a 911 call from a woman who reported that she had been shot inside a residence in the 9000 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.
Officers responded to the residence and found a 42 year old female who had a gun shot wound to her abdomen. Also in the residence, officers located a 42 year old male with a gunshot wound to his head. The male was pronounced dead at the scene by Capital City Fire & Rescue. The female was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of her injuries which at this time are believed to be non-life threatening. After preliminary investigation, it is believed the man assaulted the woman then shot himself.
An autopsy has been requested and the investigation continues.
