INFORMATION RELEASE

On 12-22-2011 at 9:35pm, a caller reported a motor vehicle accident near the 21000 block of Glacier Highway. The caller said the involved vehicle had rolled onto its side, and was resting against a power pole. Responding officers located an unoccupied 2006 Ford pickup which crossed from the outbound lane across the inbound lane,into the ditch and onto its side. The vehicle came to rest against a power pole, breaking the pole. The truck was totaled.
Power was shut off for a brief period of time, and Alaska Electric Light and Power assisted in removing the power pole from the vehicle.
The driver left the scene prior to police arrival. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
