Case or Incident: #111110-006
Today at 11:00am, a caller reported a vehicle lost items it was carrying off of a trailer while traveling on Gold Street, near Sixth Street. JPD responded and found a commercial vehicle carrying a large amount of lumber had been traveling uphill, when it lost the load from the trailer. Lumber struck several parked vehicles causing an estimated $4000 in damage to those involved. There were no injuries.
The driver of the truck, an Alaska Marine Lines employee, was cited for driving with an unsecured load. The area of Sixth and Gold was closed to traffic for about two hours while the lumber was loaded back onto the truck. The lumber was to be used in the construction of the Basin Road bridge.
