This afternoon at approximately 1:45pm, 22 year old Juneau resident David Paul was arrested for Murder in the 1st Degree, which is an unclassified felony. He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center with $100,000 bail.
*****August 15, 2010, UPDATE*****
On 08/15/2010, at approximately 10:50 PM, JPD was notified by Harborview medical personnel that the child had died from the injuries. The child was identified as 4 month old Rian ORR. Next of kin has been notified.
Investigation continues.

On 08/09/2010, at approximately 2:41 PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report from the Office of Children?s Services (OCS) reference possible child abuse. In essence, OCS had been notified that a 4 month old child had been taken to the Bartlett Regional Hospital (BRH) with injuries.
JPD officers arrived at BRH and contacted medical staff. In essence, the 4 month old girl had both new and old injuries that required medical attention. The girl was ultimately medivaced to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for medical treatment. The victim?s mother, a 20 year old Juneau resident, and the mother?s boyfriend, a 21 year old Juneau resident, were interviewed by investigators.
