Summary:

On 06/28/2011, at about 2:00 am, Officers from the Juneau Police Department had made contact with 47-year old Tillie SANTOS and a 27-year old male at the Harris Harbor parking lot reference a possible domestic altercation. Both denied being involved in an altercation. Both were found to be very intoxicated. SANTOS told the officers she wanted to drive away from the area. She was warned about driving a motor vehicle at her level of intoxication. She agreed to walk home.

At about 2:25 am, SANTOS was seen driving a 1993 Mercury Tracer outbound on Egan Drive by Juneau/Douglas High School with the 27-year old male as the passenger. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle using emergency lights and sirens. The driver refused to stop and continued driving outbound on Egan Drive. The pursuit was terminated by police due to excessive speed on the suspect vehicle's part and wet road conditions.

A few minutes later, the suspect vehicle was relocated stopped in the middle of the roadway at 9-mile Glacier Highway, in front of an apartment complex driveway. The female driver refused to exit the vehicle and placed it into reverse, impacting with the front end of a stopped police car behind it. Damaging the tow bars of the police car.

The suspect vehicle turned right into the apartment complex and stopped in front of one of the buildings. The driver, SANTOS attempted to flee from the vehicle but was apprehended and placed into custody.

SANTOS was charged with Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer (class C Felony), Assault in the Third Degree (class C Felony), Driving under the Influence (class A Misdemeanor), Refusal of a Breath Test (class A Misdemeanor), Reckless Endangerment (class A Misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree (class A Misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest (class A Misdemeanor). The male passenger was interviewed and released.

SANTOS was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center on no bail and her vehicle was impounded as evidence.
