On June 27, 2011 at about 1410 hours, the Juneau Police Department received multiple reports of a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Marine and Ferry Way. Juneau Police Officers responded to the area and found a 1999 Honda Accord had impacted the parking garage structure of the Marine View building. The operator was identified as 23 year old Juneau Resident Laura HEUMANN.
Investigation revealed that HEUMANN had turned in the driver?s seat to deal with an infant passenger in the back seat. The vehicle then left the roadway, drove up on the sidewalk, and impacted the concrete structure. No one sustained any injuries in the accident. The vehicle was totaled.
HEUMANN was cited for Negligent Driving a City and Borough of Juneau infraction. Alcohol was not involved in this incident.
