INFORMATION RELEASE

On 06/16/2011, at approximately 0120 hours, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a disturbance in the Glacierview Trailer Park. A 39 year old Juneau male resident reported that two other men had assaulted him and took his bike and backpack. The 39 year old caller also reported that he might have hurt one of the men who attacked him.

Juneau police officers arrived and spoke with the 39 year old caller, who was not injured. Officers retrieved the man?s bike and backpack, which were returned to him.

Officers also located one male, a 35 year old Juneau resident, at this residence in the Glacierview Trailer Park. The 35 year old male denied being in a fight, but said that the fight took place outside of his trailer. All the people in the altercation knew one another and had been at a party inside the trailer. Alcohol appears to be a factor in this incident. The 35 year old added that one of the participants in the fight had been cut by a knife. The male cut by a knife, a 24 year old Juneau resident, was gone prior to officer?s arrival.

On 06/16/2011, at approximately 0820 hours, the 24 year old male who had been cut went to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of his injures. The 24 year old male had sustained two non-life threatening cuts, one to his left leg and one to his torso. The 24 year old male said that he had been assaulted by the 39 year old male who had originally called JPD. The 24 year old claimed that he had been assaulted for no reason. The 24 year old male was treated for his injures and released.
