Case or Incident: #110531-009
Summary:

This morning at 9:04am the Juneau Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a bank employee saying that she was currently being robbed at gunpoint. Officers immediately responded to the 200 block of Front Street and found 65 year old Juneau resident Kenneth MONTOYA inside the bank. He was taken into custody at 9:06am.

The initial investigation revealed that MONTOYA entered the bank shortly after they opened for business, pointed a gun at the teller and asked for the money that was currently on the counter in front of her. He then told her to call the police.

MONTOYA was transported to Lemon Creek Correctional Center and charged with Robbery in the 1st degree which is a class A felony. Police determined the gun he used was a plastic toy gun. No one was injured in the robbery attempt.
