On 5/17/11 at 12:40a the man, Jeffrey Isturis, surrendered to police officers. He was taken into custody and lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center on charges of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the second degree (a class B felony), Assault DV in the third degree (a class C felony), Assault in the third degree (a class C felony), and Violating a Domestic Violence Protective Order (a class A misdemeanor).
Residents who were evacuated are welcome to return to their homes. All roads are now opened.

At approximately 5:30p this afternoon the Juneau Police Department received a report that a 51 year old Juneau man had fired one gunshot through an apartment door of a building in the 300 block of Distin Ave. Police officers responded and began evacuating the building and searching for the man.
At 7:20pm officers received a report that the man was no longer in the apartment building but was now in a garage in the 600 block of W 11th Street. Police responded to the area to find the man barricaded in the garage.
About 10 houses were evacuated in the surrounding neighborhood. Streets are closed to traffic between 10th and 12th St and from Glacier Ave to C St.
The incident is ongoing. Updates will be posted as they become available.
