On April 25, 2011, at about 9:00 am, the Juneau Police Department received a report of several small fires on the school grounds of Dzantiki Heeni Middle School. Capital City Fire/Rescue along with JPD Officers responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel determined that a privately owned \"Port-a-Potty\" restroom and a portion of the # 2 baseball field dugout had been intentionally set on fire. The smoldering fires were extinguished by CCFR personnel.
The portable restroom that was located near the field's backstop had been completely destroyed by the fire. A small portion of the dugout had also been damaged by the fire. Replacement value of the restroom is approximately $3000 and repair costs to the dugout are about $1000. Several items of evidential value were identified at the scene and seized into evidence.
