On 3/19/11 at about 1:00 am, the Juneau Police Department (JPD) received a call from a 21 year old male, who said he had been stabbed in the back while in the parking lot of a business in the 6500 block of Glacier Hwy.
Officers arrived on scene and contacted the victim who advised the suspect was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot. Capital City Fire and Rescue (CCFR) arrived on scene and transported the victim to Bartlett Regional Hospital (BRH) for treatment of his injury.
Officers then contacted the suspect, 19 year old Juneau resident, Delina Sims, sitting in a vehicle. Sims was detained and transported to JPD for an interview.
Investigation revealed that Sims and the victim had gotten in an argument while inside a vehicle in the parking lot. At some point during the argument Sims stabbed the victim in the back.
Sims was ultimately arrested for Assault 3rd Degree (DV), a Class C Felony. She was transported to and lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center where she was held without bail.
