Update:
On 3-24-2011, detectives received information that the passenger had died from his injuries. Detectives are waiting for the medical examiners report however no foul play is suspected. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.

On 03-12-2011 at 8:02 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Glacier Highway near Jensine Street. Witnesses reported the vehicle had left the scene of the accident. Upon their arrival, the officers found the involved vehicle, a 1998 Dodge truck, had returned to the scene. According to the driver of the truck, he and the passenger had been arguing when the passenger abruptly jumped out of the vehicle as it traveled on Glacier Highway. The driver said he slowed his vehicle, and then turned around to check on the passenger.

The passenger in the truck was a 36 year-old Juneau resident. He was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital, and later to the Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage for his injuries. The driver was a 34 year-old Juneau resident.

The passenger is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol, but the driver was not. The investigation is on-going.
