The Juneau Police Department is pleased to announce the opening of a new substation located in the Downtown Transit Center Building. Officers assigned to patrol the downtown area started working out of this office yesterday.
Police Chief Greg Browning said: ?This new facility is a significant improvement over our existing substation. Not only does it provide modern surroundings for officers working the downtown area to complete paperwork, its location and design allows for easier interaction with community members and visitors needing police assistance. Police substations such as this are an important component of community policing.?
The substation office hours will vary depending on call volume and the availability of officers.
