Summary:

Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision on North Douglas Highway

On September 17, 2026, at approximately 2:23 p.m., the Juneau Police Department and Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to the 3900 block of North Douglas Highway regarding a collision involving a motorcycle and a United States Postal Service delivery vehicle.

Responding officers located the motorcycle driver unresponsive at the scene. He was pronounced deceased a short time later. The motorcycle driver has been identified as 26-year-old Juneau resident Ryan Michael Jollimore. His next of kin has been notified.

The preliminary investigation indicates that both vehicles were traveling inbound (Southeast) on North Douglas Highway. The postal vehicle turned into the outbound lane of travel and was struck on the driver-side front corner panel by the motorcycle. The driver of the postal vehicle was not injured.

The vehicles involved were a green 2024 Honda motorcycle and a USPS delivery vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. No citations or charges have been issued at this time.
