Two-Vehicle Collision at Glacier Highway and Davis Avenue
Juneau, Alaska — August 26, 2026 — At approximately 7:47 a.m., the Juneau Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a collision involving a FedEx truck and a Jeep at the intersection of Glacier Highway and Davis Avenue.
Responding officers located both vehicles in the intersection. The Jeep had sustained significant damage to the driver’s side, trapping the 52-year-old female driver inside. Capital City Fire/Rescue personnel used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the driver from the vehicle. The driver reported lower-back pain and was transported by ambulance to Bartlett Regional Hospital for evaluation.
The driver of the FedEx truck, a 33-year-old male, reported minor chest pain following the collision but declined medical treatment.
The investigation determined that the FedEx truck was traveling on Glacier Highway toward Davis Avenue when it entered the intersection against a steady red traffic signal and struck the side of the Jeep.
The Jeep sustained extensive damage and was impounded for safekeeping. The FedEx truck was privately towed from the scene.
The driver of the FedEx truck was cited for failing to stop at a steady red traffic signal.
