INFORMATION RELEASE

Subject: Misconduct Involving Weapons
Date: 01-28-26
From: Deputy Chief Krag Campbell
Case or Incident: #2026-01260053
Summary:

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 5:28 p.m., the Juneau Police Department (JPD) received a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 2100 block of Radcliffe Road. The caller reported that their roommate, 22-year-old Ethan Hagh, had fired a single round from an AR-15-style rifle out of a window of the residence. The caller stated that they and other occupants were able to safely exit the residence but were unsure of Hagh’s whereabouts.

JPD officers responded to the scene and attempted to make contact with Hagh; however, he was not located at that time. The caller advised officers that Hagh may have left the residence prior to their arrival, and a nearby resident reported seeing an unknown male walking away from the area.

Over the next several hours, officers utilized drones and a public address (PA) system in an attempt to locate and communicate with Hagh, as well as to observe the interior of the residence. These efforts were unsuccessful. At approximately 7:25 p.m., officers encountered a male walking back toward the residence who was identified as Hagh. He was detained without incident.

During the investigation, officers located an AR-15-style rifle inside the residence and a pistol on Hagh’s person. No injuries were reported.

Hagh was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center, where he was lodged on the following charges:

  • One count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the second degree

  • Two counts of Assault in the third degree (domestic violence related)

  • One count of Reckless Endangerment

On January 27, Hagh was arraigned at the Juneau Courthouse where he was released.

All factual allegations contained in this release are based upon preliminary investigation and are subject to change or clarification as the investigation continues. Any charges reported in this release are merely accusations and all persons named in this release are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
