On or about October 28, 2025, investigators with the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs (SEACAD) task force identified a suspicious package being shipped to Ketchikan, Alaska. The package was determined to contain 2056.8 grams (about 4.5 pounds) of methamphetamine.

On November 1, 2025, the package was delivered in Ketchikan and picked up. Adidas Nike Zion Brown, a 33-year-old Louisiana resident, received the package and took it into a residence in the 1000 block of Dunton Street, where he was later contacted by SEACAD.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Brown had opened the package in the residence. SEACAD seized about 4.5 pounds of methamphetamine from the package, which has a street value of approximately $315,960.00. A firearm was also recovered from inside the residence and seized as part of the investigation.

Brown was placed under arrest and taken to the Ketchikan Correctional Center on the following charges:

• Three counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony
• Two counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony
• Two counts of misconduct involving weapons in the 3rd degree, a class C felony.

SEACAD, Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs, is a regional task force comprised of municipal police departments from Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Haines, Skagway, Petersburg, Hoonah, Wrangell, Craig, and Yakutat, the Alaska State Troopers, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Inspection Service, and Coast Guard Investigative Service.
