On or about October 18, 2025, investigators with the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs (SEACAD) task force identified a suspicious package being shipped to Sitka, Alaska. The package was determined to contain 34.4 grams of Fentanyl and 48.5 grams of methamphetamine.
On October 22, 2025, the package was delivered in Sitka and picked up by the recipient, Cheryl Neyman-Felix, a 64-year-old Sitka resident. Neyman-Felix took the package to a residence in the 3300 block of Halibut Point Road, where she was later contacted by SEACAD.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Neyman-Felix had opened the package and destroyed some of the items inside by placing them into a burning wood stove fireplace.
During the investigation, SEACAD seized 34.4 grams of Fentanyl and 48.5 grams of methamphetamine from the package, which is a street value of approximately $21,500.00.
Neyman-Felix was placed under arrest and taken to the Sitka Police Department jail on the charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 2nd degree, a class A felony, misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, criminal mischief in the 3rd degree, a class C felony, tampering with physical evidence, a class C felony, and three counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree, all class C felony’s.
SEACAD, Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs, is a regional task force comprised of municipal police departments from Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Haines, Skagway, Petersburg, Hoonah, Wrangell, Craig and Yakutat, the Alaska State Troopers, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Inspection Service, and Coast Guard Investigative Service. Together, they work to investigate drug importation and distribution in the Southeast Alaska region.
