Subject: Drug Investigation
Date: 07-25-25
From: Deputy Chief Krag Campbell
Case or Incident: #AK 24110862 / AK 25015906 / AK 25007247
Summary:

Beginning in October 2024, Task Force Officers with the Alaska State Troopers' Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs (SEACAD), assigned to the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), uncovered a Drug Trafficking Organization operating out of Juneau, Alaska.

The initial investigation began when task force members obtained evidence that showed that 41-year-old Juneau residents Patrick Iler, and 39-year-old Juneau resident Erika Porter were involved with the distributing methamphetamine throughout Juneau. 46-year-old Juneau resident Timothy Miller was identified as a distributor of methamphetamine working with Iler and Porter in Juneau. This investigation led to the combined seizure of 1.32 Kilograms of methamphetamine, with a street value of approximately $130,000.

One of the sources of the methamphetamine coming into Juneau was identified as coming from a supplier in Highland California. The culmination of the investigation resulted in Alaska based Task Force Officers travelling to Highland California in May 2025 and arresting the source of the methamphetamine, 67-year-old California resident Kinarla Miles. Three other co-conspirators were arrested in Juneau, 51-year-old Juneau resident Jerome Larue, 38-year-old Juneau resident Travis Lind, and 60-year-old Juneau resident Edie Seslar. The total amount of methamphetamine believed to be involved in this conspiracy was approximately 7 Kilograms of methamphetamine, with an approximate street value of $700,000.

In May 2025, in coordination with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Anchorage, Kinarla Miles, Jerome Larue, Travis Lind, and Edie Seslar were indicted on charges involving drug conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.

In July 2025, in coordination with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Anchorage, Timothy Miller, Erika Porter, and Patrick Iler were indicted for charges relating to drug conspiracy and possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. On 7/23 and 7/24, Iler, Porter and Miller were arrested by Task Force Officers in Juneau and remanded at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center for their outstanding federal arrest warrants.

All factual allegations contained in this release are based upon preliminary investigation and are subject to change or clarification as the investigation continues. Any charges reported in this release are merely accusations and all persons named in this release are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
