Subject: Two Women Arrested on Drug Charges at JIA

Summary:

On September 27th, 2024, investigators with the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs task force contacted two females arriving on a flight from Seattle at the Juneau International Airport. The women were exhibiting behavior consistent with persons under the influence of controlled substances.  A piece of a Xanax pill and a suspected fentanyl pill were located near where one of the women was standing. During the subsequent investigation, investigators located the following controlled substances:

  • 598 grams of blue fentanyl pills imprinted M/30 (approximately 5,200 pills)
  • 80.55 grams of cocaine
  • 97.43 grams of methamphetamine
  • 188.22 grams of heroin

The estimated street value of the drugs is $155,700.

50 year old Washington resident Tanya Chapman was arrested for Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the 2nd degree (possession with intent to distribute) and 2 counts of Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the 4th degree.

44 year old Washington resident Holli Bell was arrested for 2 counts of Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the 2nd degree (possession with intent to distribute), 2 counts of Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the 3rd degree (possession with intent to distribute), and 4 counts of Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the 4th degree.

Chapman and Bell were both transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

 

SEACAD, Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs, is a regional task force comprised of municipal police departments from Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Haines, Skagway, Petersburg, Hoonah, Wrangell, Craig and Yakutat, the Alaska State Troopers, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Inspection Service, and Coast Guard Investigative Service. Together, they work to investigate drug importation and distribution in the Southeast Alaska region.
