INFORMATION RELEASE

On September 24^th, 2024, investigators with the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs task force contacted a female at the Juneau International Airport after she deplaned a flight.  The female passenger was believed to be carrying narcotics as she traveled from Seattle to Juneau. Investigators later located the following controlled substances on her person and in her luggage.

• 99.33 grams of powdered fentanyl
• 14.31 grams of blue fentanyl pills labeled M/30 (approximately 150 pills)
• 28.62 grams of cocaine
• 5.34 grams of methamphetamine

The estimated street value of the drugs is $20,600.

41 year old Juneau resident Joni Land was arrested on two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 2^nd degree (Possession with Intent to Distribute), one count of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 3^rd degree (Possession with Intent to Distribute), and one count of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 4^th degree.  She was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

SEACAD, Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs, is a regional task force comprised of municipal police departments from Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Haines, Skagway, Petersburg, Hoonah, Wrangell, Craig and Yakutat, the Alaska State Troopers, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Inspection Service, and Coast Guard Investigative Service. Together, they work to investigate drug importation and distribution in the Southeast Alaska region.
