On June 27th, 2024, a Juneau Police Department officer contacted 50 year-old Juneau resident Brian H. Kurtzman outside a business on Jordan Avenue. Kurtzman had an outstanding $100,000 arrest warrant related to a Juneau Police Department case alleging multiple charges of sexual abuse of a minor. The investigation conducted by the Juneau Police Department involved a teenager that was sexually assaulted in Juneau and in Haines Alaska in 2013 and 2014.
The warrant was issued on June 14th, 2024, after a Juneau Grand Jury indicted Kurtzman on the following charges:
Four counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor 1st degree - Unclassified Felonies
Eight counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor 2nd degree – Class B Felonies
Four counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor 3rd degree – Class C Felonies
One count of Sexual Assault in the 1st degree – Unclassified Felony
Kurtzman was arrested on the warrant, transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
