On 04/03/2024, at about 6:30 am, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a deceased male on the side of Glacier Spur Road. It was reported that the male was found on the ground outside of a vehicle, next to the gated gravel parking lot, just before the Mendenhall Glacier. The cause of death appears to be from a single gunshot wound, and a firearm was located next to the body. The cause of death is not considered suspicious at this time. The body of the deceased is being sent to the Alaska Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy.
The deceased male has been identified as 56-year-old John Grim Knull. Next of kin has been notified.
