Saturday, March 20th (10:30am) Presented on Zoom Webinar & Facebook Live: On Saturday, March 20th, at 10:30 AM the City Museum will host a Zoom webinar with Juneau ArtWorks grant recipients, Abel Ryan and Larisa Manewal. Ryan and Manewal will discuss the artwork they created for the ArtWorks grant which is now a part of the City Museum’s permanent collection. Ryan and Manewal collaborated on Covid Secrets, a project conceived by Manewal in which she collected handmade postcards from the community that depict personalized experiences of the pandemic. These postcards were placed inside Ryan's Bentwood Chest which is now on display at the City Museum. In addition, Ryan will discuss Recognizable Changes, the three panels he carved and painted for the grant, and Manewal will present on her photography project titled, One Square Mile, in which she photographed a sample of life "bounded by one square mile" in Juneau during the pandemic.
