Temperatures continue to stay quite warm around the region. We have now seen 5.5 days with no freezing temps to the top of the Mt Roberts Tram Summit. This continues to erode the bonds in the snow and especially the bonds between the snow and earth. This is especially critical in steep open slope faces. Places with few or no anchors. Steep unsupported convex rolls. The snow is cleaning itself off of these steep unanchored areas.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Avalanche Danger is MODERATE to Considerable. Natural Avalanches are likely in these steep open areas. Human triggered avalanches are not as likely yet in isolates areas this threat also remains.

The Mt Roberts Tram had a low temp of 33f, a high of 40f and is currently at 34f. At mid mountain Eaglecrest had a low of 32f, a high of 36f and is currently just above freezing at 32f. The base areas is currently 36f and the top is 32f. These cooler temperatures are starting to lock the snowpack back up a little but until temps go below freezing back to lower elevations for a little longer danger will linger.

Eaglecrest is blowing 15-25mph out of the SE. The Tram is showing 10-15mph gusting to 20.

The forecast calls for .25\" of precipitation today. With increased precip rates for tomorrow of up to .75\". This could bring a fair amount of new snow to the region. Watch to see danger change from wet slabs to wind slabs and storm slabs as we go into tomorrow and Monday.
