The National Weather Service Forecasts-

TODAY...LOCALLY WINDY IN THE MORNING. RAIN. TEMPERATURES STEADY
AROUND 33 TO 42. SOUTHEAST WIND 15 TO 25 MPH DECREASING TO 10 TO 20 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

NEAR DOWNTOWN JUNEAU AND DOUGLAS...NORTHEAST WIND 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH DIMINISHING IN THE AFTERNOON.

TONIGHT...RAIN. LOWS AROUND 35. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH.

FRIDAY...RAIN. HIGHS AROUND 39. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 TO 15 MPH.

Winds this morning at the top of the tram are blowing 20 gusting 30 out of the NE. Eaglecrest is slightly lower at 10-15 out of the East.

Currently its 34f at the Base of Eaglecrest and 29f on top. The Mt Roberts Tram is showing about 31f.

With essentially no precipitation in the last 24 hours and continued near freezing temperatures avalanche danger remains LOW.

With as much as 3-5\" of snow in the forecast for upper elevations in the next 24 hours avalanche danger will increase.

Look to see if winds maintain as the snow comes in. If so look for wind loading tomorrow.

Hopefully this will materialize into a little snowfall for us. But lower elevations still look marginal.

Continue to be aware of areas of glide. Glide cracks opening up showing areas of weakness in the snowpack. Be aware these are hard to predict.
