The CBJ Aquatics Board is considering adopting regulations governing the commercial use of municipal aquatics facilities. The Aquatics Board will accept written comments from any interested person until Monday September 6th, 2021. Written comments may be sent via email to Parks.Rec@Juneau.org or mailed to Kollin Monahan, Aquatics Manager located at City Hall (155 S. Seward St., Juneau, AK 99801).

Proposed Aquatics Commercial Use Regulations

The proposed regulations would:

o   Authorize the Aquatics Manager of Parks & Recreation to issue permits for commercial use of aquatics facilities per CBJ 67.01.090;

o   Require applicants to provide proof of liability insurance per CBJ 67.01.080;

o   Allow the Aquatics Manager of Parks & Recreation to require reasonable conditions, such as to time, area, equipment, training, certification, insurance, and other factors;

o   Authorize the Aquatics Board to set an Application Fee and a Permit Fee for commercial use and;

o   Establish general operating requirements for commercial use of aquatics facilities.
